In my last visit to Madrid last month, I had the opportunity to check the Vogue Like a Painting exhibition, placed at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum until October, 12th.
The exhibition, curated by Debra Smith, brings together 67 images that stamped Vogue’s covers, captured by the greatest photographers lens of recent decades, which were inspired by several famous paintings such as Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Zubaran’s Santa Elisabetta.
In some photographs we quickly identify the picture that inspired them and in others the correlation is more subtle.
It’s a must-go for fashion and photography lovers.
