MFW: Costume National

Those who follow me on Facebook and Instagram already know I’m in Milan to cover the Fashion Week. I am determined to bring as much information as possible.

I’ll start talking about the first show that was this season: Costume National.

Italian brand created in 1986 by Ennio Capasa, Creative Director, and his brother Carlo, is defined as “edgy chic”, minimalist with a rock n ‘roll touch. They define their customers as a modern, dynamic and well informed person.

Just to have you an idea, Ennio designed Mick Jagger clothes on the current tour of the Rolling Stones (2016) in Latin America, and was responsible for some costumes of the movie Zoolander 2. But do not stop there: several celebrities have chosen to use Costume National, as the immortal David Bowie, Sting, Patti Smith, Rita Ora, Heidi Klum, Keanu Reeves, Angelina Jolie, Clive Owen and Willem Dafoe.

The designer chose as the theme of his show Romantic Wave. He explained: “we all have two hearts: one tough, one sweet. The woman I imagine for next fall can wear a military coat with a ruffled dress, looking at the future with a poetic attitude. She is giving value to what she buys, constantly searching for timeless clothesing. She doesn’t like fast fashion, she likes slow fashion. ”

The color palette chosen for the show passes by black, night blue, forest green, emerald green and burgundy.

Satin, velvet, lurex and leather were the fabrics that reigned in the show.

I loved the collection that blends classic with modern, in a timeless way, exactly as proposed by Ennio. Look down a small piece of the show:
